
| When using an enema, liquid is introduced through the anus into the rectum and continues on a path filling the large intestine, to the end at the cecum. A good enema is achieved when you fill and slightly distend the entire colon from the anus all the way to and including the cecum. There are two sets of muscles that close off the colon from outside of the body. They are the anal sphincter muscles. | ||
